Branch Lake Summer Home

This summer home sits on Branch Lake off of Route 1A in Ellsworth, Maine, and was designed by BRIBURN Architecture with the environment in mind. It is a post-and-beam structure and contains many sustainable features throughout including high-performance tilt-turn windows and sliding glass doors, energy efficient insulation, a green roof system, and a heating and cooling system provided by sophisticated open-loop geothermal technology.

The countertops were sourced via Freshwater Stone, and there is an elevator provided by Maine Accessibility. The photovoltaic system was installed by Revision Energy.

The home features a custom staircase of metal and oak treads.

The doors and trim throughout the residence are made from Douglas Fir and locally sourced.

The siding on the exterior of the house is thermally modified Cambia siding made of poplar.

The roof is a standing seam Galvalume roof.
