For over fifty years, Hewes & Company has built some of the finest custom homes, cabinetry, and architectural millwork on the Maine coast — from the Blue Hill Peninsula and Deer Isle to Mount Desert Island, Castine, and the Penobscot Bay region.
Founded in 1975 by Mike Hewes in Blue Hill, Maine, we've grown into a 100% employee-owned company with deep roots in this community and an uncompromising standard of craft. Our work spans fine custom homes in every style — coastal, modern, passive house, and traditional — as well as custom cabinetry, architectural millwork, CNC machining, and marine fabrication for wooden boat builders.
We collaborate closely with the region's best architects and designers, and we bring the same level of care to a bespoke kitchen cabinet as we do to a multi-million-dollar waterfront residence. If you can envision it, we can build it — and we'll build it to last.
